# Client portal

> Understand how the signed-in client portal gives external contacts access to shared client work, tickets, billing history, and account areas.

The **client portal** is a separate signed-in surface for contacts outside your agency. It gives each portal user a focused view of the client accounts they can access without opening the internal agency app.

## Portal users and agency team members

| User type | Where they work | What the access is for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Agency team member** | Agency app | Manage clients, delivery work, tickets, team access, and agency settings according to their role. |
| **Portal user** | Client portal | Review shared client work, contact the agency through tickets, and use the portal account areas available to them. |

A portal user is not an internal team member. Inviting a contact to the portal does not add that person to your agency team or give them access to the agency app.

## What portal users can access

The exact portal navigation can vary by agency. Available portal areas include:

- **Dashboard** for work the agency has shared for the selected client. Portal users can open shared stages to review progress or complete requested work.
- Shared **Views** that the agency adds to portal navigation.
- **Tickets** for opening a support request, following its status and conversation, and replying to the agency team.
- **My Profile** for contact details, login email, password, profile photo, and default account.
- **Billing** for the selected client's account balance, invoices, and payment history.
- **Users** for viewing the selected client's portal users and inviting another portal user.

A portal user linked to more than one client account can switch between those linked accounts. Each portal page stays within the selected client account.

## What stays inside the agency app

Portal access does not expose:

- Client records the portal user is not linked to.
- Internal ticket notes or agency-only ticket details.
- Agency settings, internal team tools, or other agency-only client work.
- Another agency's portal or client data.

## Access and portal URLs

An agency team member grants access from **Users** on a client record. Start in **Clients** ([/clients](https://app.agencytitan.com/clients)), open the client, then follow [Invite a client portal user](/help/clients/invite-a-client-portal-user/) for the invitation steps.

Portal URLs use the agency slug pattern `https://app.agencytitan.com/:slug/portal`, where `:slug` identifies the agency portal. Signed-in child pages add paths such as `/profile`, `/billing`, `/users`, or `/tickets`. The contact's account must have access to that agency portal.

## Portal tickets and the system inbox

Tickets created through the client portal enter the **Client Portal** system inbox. This built-in inbox receives portal conversations and cannot be recreated as a normal connected inbox.

Agency team members work with portal requests alongside other tickets in the agency app. Portal users see only the tickets available to their linked client accounts, without internal notes. See [Tickets overview](/help/tickets/overview/) for the agency ticket model.
